Order RD-361/09.04.2004 on the regimes, procedures and conditions for the use, purchase for trade purposes in the country and export across the border of live snails, shells and meat of the species: vine snail (Helix lucorum) and garden snail (Helix pomatia).

This Order establishes the regulatory regime for the commercial exploitation and export of Helix lucorum and Helix pomatia. It prescribes a mandatory annual harvest window and a minimum conservation size. The instrument sets forth administrative requirements for purchase points, including technical storage standards and mandatory stock declarations to the Regional Inspection of Environment and Water (RIOSW). Export is conditional upon the issuance of certificates following official verification of compliance with the established conditions and size limits. Violations of these provisions are subject to penalties according to the law.
