Food Security Strategy 2023-2026.

This Strategy sets out the content of a national policy document addressing food security. It describes food security in accordance with internationally used concepts and presents the grounds for its adoption at national level, including reference to emergency situations and crisis conditions. The text outlines the general context in which the Strategy has been developed. The document describes the food security situation on the basis of economic, agricultural, social, and nutritional data. It presents information on domestic food production, import dependence for specific food products, regional differences, poverty levels, and factors affecting food availability and access. It also includes information on food loss and waste, dietary composition, and nutritional characteristics of the population. The Strategy is structured around four components identified as food availability, food accessibility, food utilisation, and food stability. For each component, the document describes existing conditions and identified issues related to production, supply, access to food, food safety and nutrition, and exposure to risks and disruptions. References are also made to linkages with agriculture, rural areas, social conditions, and emergency situations. The document sets out objectives, sub‑objectives, and a program of actions for implementation within a defined period. It identifies responsible bodies, coordination arrangements, monitoring indicators, and financial considerations. Provisions concerning governance, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting are described as part of the implementation framework.
