Energy Strategy 2030 (Vision 2050).

This Energy Strategy 2030, adopted by the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, establishes national targets for energy efficiency, renewable energy development and greenhouse gas emission reductions up to 2030, while contributing to a long-term Energy Vision 2050. The strategy aims to reduce overall energy demand through efficiency measures in buildings, industry, appliances and transport, increase the share of renewable energy sources, and support the transition to a low-carbon energy system. Priority measures include the expansion of solar energy, sustainable biomass utilization, district heating networks, improved building standards, electrification of transport, and development of energy storage and balancing solutions. The strategy also addresses energy security and Liechtenstein’s dependence on imports, therefore it seeks to strengthen domestic and regional renewable energy production, promote local value creation and reduce reliance on fossil energy, while maintaining a reliable and affordable energy supply. The strategy promotes a combination of regulatory requirements, financial incentives, stakeholder participation, public awareness and government leadership to achieve its objectives. Implementation is supported by monitoring and review mechanisms, with responsibilities assigned to national energy authorities and advisory bodies to ensure progress towards national climate and energy goals.
