This Chapter is divided into the following sections: Honeybee importation; Punishment for unlawful importation; Propagation of stock and release of germplasm; Eradication and control of undesirable species and subspecies; Uses of funds; Authorisation of appropriations. The Secretary of Agriculture is authorised to restrict the importation or entry of honeybees and honeybee semen into the US in order to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases and parasites harmful to honeybees, the introduction of genetically undesirable germplasm of honeybees, or the introduction and spread of undesirable species or subspecies of honeybees and their semen. Honeybees or semen imported in violation of this Chapter shall be destroyed or immediately exported. The Secretary of Agriculture may propagate bee-breeding stock and may release bee germplasm to the public.
