Decree No. 472 of 2002 relative to compensations payed for the withdrawal of fishing vessels from licensed fishery in 2002.

The Decree aims at the adjustment of the fishing fleet capacity of Norway. "Withdrawal" implies renouncing the right of the vessel to participate in fisheries and destruction of the fishing vessel. Article 3-2 formulates the conditions for eligibility for aid in relation to ownership, size of vessel, and age of vessel. Other requirements are prescribed in article 3-3 and have regard to fishing activities in the last years of the vessel. Article 3-4 prescribes the compensations to be paid. The remaining provisions deal, inter alia, with application and payment procedures.
