This Decree, composed of 16 articles and one Annex, reclassifies the Natural Reserve “Ilhéus das Formigas” as the Natural Regional Reserve “Ilhéus das Formigas”. The new classification includes a marine protected area. The aim is to adopt protective measures for the marine community and habitats. In particular, the Decree defines the forbidden activities, such as fishing, scraping off geological or archaeological material. It also regulates the sanctions and penalties for infringement of its norms. The Annex provides the new delimitation of the protected area.
