This Regional Act lays down provisions governing the functioning of the regional agricultural development services, which shall inter alia: (a) improve knowledge and disseminate information on agricultural matters; (b) contribute to sustainable development of agricultural, zootechnical and environmental resources of Liguria; (c) promote the use of alternative sources of energy; (d) promote the conservation and improvement of local breeds and germplasm. Particular provisions on biodiversity preservation are laid down under article 7. The Agricultural Information System, to be coordinated with the National Agricultural Information System, is set up in accordance with article 10.
