These Regulations make provision in Wales for the administration of specified Community legislation in relation to establishing a new system of direct support schemes under the Common Agricultural Policy. In relation to the Single Payment Scheme, these Regulations, among other things: (a) provide for definition of Wales as a single region; (b) provide that the National Assembly is the competent authority for purposes of sending out in the first year of application of the single payment scheme an application form to farmers; (c) prescribe the minimum size of a holding in respect of which the establishment of entitlements may be requested; (d) provide that secondary crops may be cultivated on eligible hectares during a period of not more than three months beginning each year on a specified date.
