This Act makes provision for water conservation and management matters and establishes the Water Authority. The 73 sections of the Act are divided into 11 Parts, i.e.: Introductions (I); Central Administration (II); Control of Water Resources Use (III); Revisions, Variations, Termination and Diminution of Licences (IV); Water Pollution Control (V); Water Supply (VI); Sewerage and Sewage Disposal (VII); Licensing of Well-Diggers (VIII); Miscellaneous Powers (IX); Appeals (X); Penalties and Supplementary (XI). The Water Authority shall be a body corporate and shall be responsible, among other things, for the implementation of water policy and water supply and sewage. The Governor may, after consultation with the Authority, make Regulations relating to matters specified in section 70.
