This Decision approves the plan on building solid waste treatment facilities in the Mekong River delta key economic zone. The planning viewpoints shall include: the building of solid waste treatment facilities for disposal of hazardous waste and for disposal of ordinary, industrial and hospital solid waste; apply solid waste treatment technologies, prioritizing solid waste recycling so as to tackle environmental pollution and increase land use efficiency; and encourage the investment in building solid waste collection and treatment facilities. The Decision further provides for measures which shall be taken to mitigate environmental pollution and prevent environmental accidents.
