This Ordinance governs the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electricity and aims at enhancing public safety in the use of electricity. The Ordinance provides for: Powers of the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services; powers and obligations of electricity suppliers; responsibilities of owners of electrical installations; registration of generating facilities; restrictions on the use of electrical products; registration and discipline of electrical workers and contractors workers; appeals; offences and penalties; etc.
