This Law regulates the manner of prescribing technical requirements for products and conformity assessment procedures with the prescribed requirements and the adoption of technical regulations by the competent ministers and directors of organizations, pursuant to this Law, for certain products or product groups further regulate at least one of the following elements: a) technical requirements to be met by products that are marketed; b) rights and obligations of legal and natural persons that put products on the market; c) procedures for assessing conformity with the prescribed requirements; d) the rights and obligations of bodies performing procedures for the assessment of product conformity with technical requirements; e) documents (certificates, technical documentation, etc.) that must be available to the competent authorities before placing the product on the market; f) methods of labelling products. The products can be marketed, or can be put into service only if they comply with prescribed technical requirements, if compliance determined according to the prescribed procedure and are marked in accordance with the regulations. This Law shall not apply to the prescription of technical requirements and conformity assessment procedures for products which are regulated by special laws.
