These Regulations implement the Health Act 1911. The Regulations set out procedures for obtaining approval by the Executive Director, Public Health (EDPH) to construct, alter and extend aquatic facilities, and to obtain a certificate of compliance required to operate an aquatic facility. Furthermore, procedures are set out to apply for a permit to operate an aquatic facility or a water body that is part of an aquatic facility. Operators of aquatic facilities must operate the facility in accordance with the operational requirements of the Code of practice for the design, construction, operation, management and maintenance of aquatic facilities published by the EDPH. The Regulations further provide for: quality control of water bodies; hygiene and use of facilities; pollution of water bodies; etc.
