This Law creates the Support Programme to fisheries development within the State of Rio de Janeiro. The objectives of this programme are the following: supporting the technological development of the State, giving technical assistance and specialized fisheries extension, fishers' professional capacity development and the settlement of infrastructures supporting the fisheries sector for its sustainable development. Management of this programme will be under the Fisheries Institute of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FIPERJ).
