These Rules implement provisions of the Mizoram Water Supplies (Control) Act, 2004. The Rules provide: conditions for the provision of water connection; for officers authorized to disconnect water connections and suspend water supply and the reasons therefore; powers of the Department to reserve any water source with the catchment areas for human consumption; water rates and other charges; etc.
