The present Regulations is enacted under the Forest Act. In particular, the Regulations lays down provisions relating to the management of timber. Section 3 establishes that the director may on behalf of the Crown sell timber quotas by tender, by auction or by direct sale. The holder of a timber quota shall obtain a timber licence pursuant to section 21 of the Act to these Regulations authorizing the harvest of the timber to which he is entitled by virtue of his quota.
