This Act establishes the County Agricultural Development Fund and provides generally for the development of the agricultural sector. "Agriculture" includes game ranching and cropping, aquaculture and fisheries activities and agro-forestry. The object and purpose of this Act is to provide a legal framework to facilitate the growth and development of agriculture in the County and in particular to, among other things: provide financing for agricultural development initiatives; promote the production, processing, marketing, and distribution of agricultural products; reduce duplication and overlap of functions among institutions involved in the regulation of agriculture; promote competitiveness in the agricultural sector and to develop diversified crop and animal products and market outlets. The Fund shall be used to support eligible projects.
