The present Ordinance implements the Upper Austria Plant Protection Law 2002 (LGBl. No. Nr. 67/2002). The Ordinance lays down provisions relating to emergency measures to prevent the spread of western corn rootwoerm. In areas where maize is grown, each year an official survey shall be conducted to detect this disease. When the results of those surveys confirm the presence of the organism in an area which was previously known to be free from the organism, demarcated zones shall be defined.
