This Regional Decree, with a view of conservation unique natural complex, precious from ecological, recreational, ecological, educational, cultural and historical point of view, attributes the status of regional nature reserve to “Shodnya river valley”. The aforesaid nature reserve shall perform the following functions: (a) conservation, protection and reproduction of natural environment and natural landscapes; (b) conservation of wild fauna and wild flora species; (c) rational management of recreational resources; (d) keeping and maintaining ecological balance; and (e) ecological education. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of regional nature reserve “Shodnya river valley”: (a) modification of historically formed protected natural landscape; (b) damage of natural habitats of endangered animal and plant species; (c) soil pollution; (c) waste disposal; (d) damage or unauthorized felling; (e) burning of dry vegetation; and (f) felling in the period of egg laying and brood time of waterfowl from 1 April to 31 July.
