Resolution CONAMA No. 474 amending Resolution CONAMA No. 411 on inspection procedures related to industries that consume or process natural forest products and by-products, as well as setting the related standards and volume yield coefficients, including vegetal coal and saw mill wastes.

This Resolution amends Resolution CONAMA No. 411/2009. Amendments deal with the following matters: conversion of forest products through industrial processing or semi-mechanized process shall be informed in the National System of Control of the Origin of Forest Products (Sinaflor) or in the integrated state electronic system, respecting the maximum limits of coefficient of volumetric timber set out in Annex II of this Resolution. Wood waste generated in the conversion of raw products to processed products will be reduced by at least 10%, referring to the losses in the form of sawdust. Any losses resulting from the conversion between processed products must be reported in the DOF System or in the integrated state electronic system according to the volume obtained from the operation. In addition, amended Annexes deal with: New Volumetric Efficiency Coefficient; Studies for Determination of the Greater Coefficient of Volumetric Commercial Timber Logging in Sawn Wood.
