This Decree amends the structure of the Secretariat for Rural Development, Fisheries and Cooperatives (SDR). Amended articles have new areas of competence, such as: policy and guidelines formulation for rural territorial development, coordination of governmental actions according to the characteristics and the socioeconomic, environmental and cultural peculiarities of each region; policies aimed at family and fish farming; guidelines for the development of Cooperatives; promotion of policies of agroecology and sustainable rural development preserving biodiversity and agro-ecosystems; develop policies to strengthen the productive chains of family agriculture; formulate, coordinate and implement policies for family agro-industries, associations and cooperatives; develop policies for agrarian development; implement discrimination and legalization of public lands within the scope of its competence; structure, competencies and composition of the SDR are managed by new bodies, etc.
