Integrated coastal zone management plan.

This Plan is formulated in accordance with the Coastal Zone Management Act, aiming to maintain natural systems, ensure zero loss of the natural coast, respond to climate change, prevent coastal disasters and damage to the environment, protect and restore coastal resources, implement integrated coastal zone management, and promote the sustainable development of coastal zones. The Plan seeks to make forestry and fisheries more productive and sustainable. The Plan focuses on the issues such as: (1) The ecological environment of Taiwan's coastal areas has been damaged due to the unregulated multiple use of land; (2) The wetland areas and ecological functions are rapidly lost due to improper human development and destruction and the impact of climate change; The improper development of coastal areas has resulted in the destruction of the ecological environment of animals and plants and landscapes; (4) and the gradual loss of the traditional fields and natural resources of indigenous people. The countermeasures proposed in the Plan include: (1) In order to maintain the balance of biodiversity and natural ecosystems, and to protect endangered and rare plants, animals and their habitats, coastal protection areas should be designated and classified according to the characteristics of the protection targets so as to achieve the goal of environmental sustainability; an beings and nature coexist in harmony.
