The Site remediation Plan was adopted in 2003 and lays down as objectives the remediation, rehabilitation and securing of sites following the prioritising system put in place by the plan, development of prevention program and of a polluted site register. For the achievement of those objectives the Plan identifies the following strategies of action: support of local administration on technical procedures, development of guidelines, specific measures for remediation of mining sites, extension to private land, in situation of emergencies, of public land measures, monitoring of industrial sites to quantify pollution and measures to promote knowledge building and adoption of systems and technologies that reduce the hazard of waste.
