The present document contains Greenland's Agriculture Strategy for the period 2021-2030, applicable throughout all of Greenland, whose vision is to increase food security with agricultural products made in Greenland. The Strategy consists of 9 goals, each of them containing concrete subgoals for the period 2021-2024, specific actions for each goal, contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and indicators. The Goals and their actions are as follows: 1) 28.000 sheep slaughtered a year. Contemplated actions are: all sheep breeders shall use the web-based reporting system "Fjárvís"; construction of new modern barn; improvement of barn floors; make the establishment of new farms and their takeover easier; fixed subsidies for ewes and procurement; a feeding strategy. 2) 80% self-produced winter feed. Contemplated actions are: establishment of new cultivation areas; new cultivation strategy with grass with 2 meadows; soil improvement strategy; strengthen the possibility of irrigation of fields; more farmers with only plant growing; Greenlandic produced supplementary feed. 3) Increased production of vegetables. Contemplated actions are: improved procurement; targeted cultivation tests with vegetables in Upernaviarsuk; dissemination of test results from Upernaviarsuk; spread of the "indoor farming" concept; tests with locally-run greenhouses in buildings; creation of a new Research Service. 4) Increased profitability in the agriculture industry. Contemplated actions are: increased lamb yield; increased herd size; increase the self-producing share of fodder; increase the share of renewable energy; storage halls / flexible halls; ownership of several farms; co-ownership of machinery and hydropower. 5) Increased dissemination of relevant knowledge to farmers. Contemplated actions are: creation of a Research Service; annual publication of experimental results; creation of an agricultural database; experience groups; continuing education of farmers. 6) Improved infrastructure in the agricultural sector. Contemplated action are: mapping the need for infrastructure; exploring the possibility of reducing freight tariffs. 7) Improved agricultural education. Contemplated actions are: the Department of Education shall take a position on agricultural education; focus on the subject area's operational and financial management; agricultural education at higher level. 8) Up-to-date the administrative basis Contemplated actions are: updating of agricultural legislation; debt restructuring for farmers; stocktaking of farmers; new study of grazing capacity in grazing areas. 9) Other developments of Greenlandic agriculture. Contemplated actions are: cattle breeding development; development of reindeer husbandry; expansion of the agricultural industry in Greenland; processing of Greenlandic wool in Greenland; alternative agricultural industries in Greenland.
