Recommendation GFCM/37/2013/1 on a multiannual management plan for fisheries exploiting small pelagic stocks in geographical subarea 17 (northern Adriatic Sea) and on transitional conservation measures for fisheries exploiting small pelagic stocks in geographical subarea 18 (southern Adriatic Sea).

This Recommendation lays down rules for the objectives and scientific monitoring, adaptation and revision of the multiannual plan; conservation measures; technical conservation measures; fishing effort and fish capacity control; and national programmes of control, monitoring and surveillance. This Recommendation underlines that fishing for fry of small pelagic stocks shall be prohibited with all types of fishing gear in GSA 17 and GSA 18. Moreover, anchovy and sardine smaller than the minimum conservation size in total length, as reported in Paragraph 19, shall not be caught, retained on board, transshipped, transferred, stored, sold, displayed or offered for sale.
