The Guidelines for forest operations lay down a range of standards, guidelines and rules to ensure sustainable use and management of forests and forest products, promote environmentally sound forest harvesting for all State Forest Authorizations, reduce environmental impacts, conserve biodiversity, forest regeneration and wildlife protection, improve the ecological, socio-economic, and socio-cultural contributions of forestry as a component of sustainable development, and strengthen cooperation between logging companies and local communities.
