The Annual Contingency Plan 2021-2022, approved by the Council of Ministers, serves as the basis for the disaster mitigation and management process, under the provisions of article 31 of Law No. 10/2020 of 24 August, which approves the legal regime for Disaster Risk Reduction. This Plan aims at ensuring humanitarian assistance and rapid, effective and efficient recovery, at all levels, during the rainy and cyclonic season. In particular, it aims at managing and responding to various situations that may occur during the rainy and cyclonic season, including the probability of earthquakes, as well as the management of the situation of the COVID 19 pandemic and internally displaced persons resulting from the armed attacks in Cabo Delgado and in the central area of the country.
