Imported Food Control Order 2019.

The Order identifies and classifies food to which the imported food control legislation applies. It defines terms concerning animal products, processed meat, poultry, prohibited plants and fungi, raw milk cheese, ready-to-eat food, retorted products and shelf-stable goods. Food listed in Schedule 1 is classified as risk food and is required to be inspected, or inspected and analysed, under the imported food inspection scheme. New Zealand products listed in Schedule 2 are separately classified as risk food. Food covered by a compliance agreement is classified as compliance agreement food, while other applicable food is classified as surveillance food, subject to the stated exclusions.
