Regulation No. 1580 on maximum temporary limit values for radioactive contamination in foodstuffs and feed that are placed on the market, and any other necessary restrictions under the Food Act, as a result of a nuclear incident.

The purpose of the present Regulation is to protect human health by preventing the sale of foodstuffs and feed that are contaminated by radioactive substances after a nuclear incident. For these purposes, it sets the highest limit values for radioactive contamination in foodstuffs and feed that are traded which can be temporarily applied after a nuclear incident (Annexes 1-3), and authorizes the Norwegian Food Safety Authority to adopt relevant regulations.
