This Complementary Law creates the Agro-forestry Protection Institute of the State of Rondônia (IDARON). IDARON is the coordinating and executing body of the State's Agricultural Protection policy and its purpose is to promote the supervision, inspection and execution of animal and plant health surveillance and protection, as well as the inspection, supervision and classification of plant and forestry production. In particular, it is responsible for: planning, coordinating and executing the State's agricultural and livestock protection, in line with federal and State agricultural and livestock policy and guidelines; promoting studies on planning in the area of agricultural and forestry protection; promoting agricultural and livestock protection at all levels; and propose and define the preparation of agreements for the execution of Agricultural Protection services at state and municipal levels; promote the training and improvement of human resources in this area; submit to the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Agrarian Reform (SEAGRI) proposals for Agricultural Protection planning and programmes; promote the holding of conferences, symposia and other scientific conferences; sign agreements with governmental, non-governmental and institutional bodies, etc.
