China has attached great importance to addressing climate change and has released annual reports on policies and actions to address climate change for 12 consecutive years. This annual report, China’s Policies and Actions for Addressing Climate Change 2020, is issued to enable all parties to fully understand China's actions, policies and accomplishments in addressing climate change from 2019 onwards. The annual report covers seven aspects, including strengthening top-level policy design, mitigating climate change, adapting to climate change, improve institutional mechanisms, strengthening basic capabilities, broad participation of the whole society, strengthening international exchanges and cooperation. For adapting to climate change, the annual report outlines the China's efforts in key sectors such as agriculture, water resources, forests and other terrestrial ecosystems, coastal zones and coastal ecosystems, human health, comprehensive disaster prevention and reduction, international cooperation on adaption to climate change.
