This Resolution highlights the need for concrete and dedicated actions to speed up the energy transition of the fishing sector in the GFCM area of application. The purpose of this Resolution is to strengthen the resilience of the fishing sector and enhance the implementation of a roadmap for the implementation of the conclusions towards decarbonization adopted during the WKDECA meeting in 2023. Upon the request of contracting parties and cooperating non-contracting parties, the GFCM Secretariat shall develop pilot projects at the subregional level on the fuel consumption and carbon footprint of the fleet, by gear and segment, by 2025.
