This Resolution highlights the the importance of transitioning towards low-carbon and climate-resilient aquaculture practices. It encourages the contracting parties and cooperating non-contracting parties to adopt sustainable energy sources and feed production in aquaculture farms by promoting: (i) the use of renewable energy and sustainable and low-carbon fish feed ingredients; (ii) energy-efficient measures and energy-saving methods; and (iii) carbon offsetting and sequestration in aquaculture through activities such as restorative aquaculture and integrated multitrophic aquaculture.
