This Decree establishes the State Programme for the Prevention and Combating of Forest Fires and Burning (PEPIF) within the State of Pará. The Programme aims at planning, monitoring and executing government actions for the prevention and combating of forest fires and burning, and promoting inter-institutional coordination relating to: I - integrated fire management; II - reducing the incidence and damage caused by forest fires and burning in the state; and III - prevention, preparedness, response and accountability for forest fires.
