The Act governs the establishment, composition, and responsibilities of avalanche commissions in Styrian municipalities at risk of avalanche disasters. The commissions, appointed by the mayor and comprising qualified members, assess avalanche hazards and advise on safety measures, including issuing local police regulations and coordinating with relevant authorities for traffic restrictions and avalanche emergency management. The law mandates continuous training, proper equipment, and insurance for commission members, with financial support from the state for necessary protective and specialized equipment.
