Act No. 29 on commerce.

This Act on commercial activity regulates independent retail trade. It requires businesses to display their GER number, name, and address clearly, and to provide contact details online. Organizers of markets and similar events must maintain participant lists for five years. Certain goods such as alcohol, tobacco, cosmetics, soft drinks, and confectionery may only be sold from outlets operating at least weekly over a four-month period, except in special cases like tax-free sales or temporary events. Oversight is split between the Consumer and Competition Authority (for business information requirements) and the Tax Agency (for regulated goods sales). Violations can lead to fines under Greenland’s Criminal Code, with harsher penalties for repeat or aggravated cases. The Act substitutes GER registration for previous licensing requirements. Food products are in scope.
