This notification amends the Environmental Impact Assessment Notification, 2006 (principal Notification). In the principal Notification, in Appendix IX pertaining to exemption of certain cases from requirement of environmental clearance, item no 6 is substituted. This relates to extraction or sourcing of ordinary earth for the linear projects which is made subject to the compliance of the conditions set out in Appendix XIV. Further, after Appendix XIII, a new Appendix XIV is added which sets out the definition of linear projects, the environmental safeguards and standard operating procedures for such projects.
