Resolution 24/07 on a Management Procedure for Skipjack Tuna in the IOTC Area of Competence.

The IOTC Resolution establishes a management procedure for skipjack tuna known as MP-SKJ to ensure the stock remains sustainably managed under precautionary principles. It sets biomass reference points (20% limit and 40% target of unfished spawning biomass), adopts a three-year total allowable catch (TAC)-setting cycle starting with 628,606 tons for 2024–2026, and limits TAC changes between periods. The Scientific Committee will apply the procedure, monitor exceptional circumstances, and review performance before 2032, while allocation and compliance mechanisms are to be developed separately.
