This Law aims to strengthen the protection and welfare of animals in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul by establishing the mandatory duty of veterinary care establishments to report cases of animal abuse to public security authorities. Its main objectives are to ensure the timely detection and reporting of animal mistreatment, support law‑enforcement actions through the provision of relevant information for identifying perpetrators, and promote accountability and public awareness by integrating veterinary services into the prevention and repression of crimes against animals.
