This Act provides for regulating veterinary services in municipalities and districts, and thus covers the following matters: definition of animal, as any animal or bird of husbandry or domestic use; definition of veterinarian; definition of veterinary medicine; establishment of a veterinary services district in a municipality; objects and duties of each veterinary services board: rendering financial or other assistance to enable and encourage veterinarians to practise veterinary medicine and surgery in the district, maintaining, equipping and upgrading district animal hospitals to the standards prescribed in the regulations, enabling veterinarians to confer for the interchange of information on matters relating to veterinary medicine and surgery, preventing the spread of infectious diseases among animals through targeted instructions and other means; veterinarians' right to practice; grants to establish animal hospital facilities.
