Order No. 1473 on threshold values for antibiotic use and mortality in cattle and pig herds.

This Order requires the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration to set threshold values for antibiotic use and mortality in cattle and pig herds, particularly for herds covered by mandatory health advisory agreements or measures to reduce antibiotic use. Antibiotic consumption is calculated through VetStat as an average over nine months using the daily standard dose for animals (ADD), with pig antibiotic use calculated as weighted ADD to reflect higher concern for certain antibiotic classes, including fluoroquinolones, third- and fourth-generation cephalosporins, colistin and tetracyclines. The Order sets specific antibiotic-use thresholds for cattle and pigs by animal category, including lower pig thresholds from 30 September 2026, and establishes mortality thresholds for calves, cows and sows based on data from the Central Husbandry Register over a 12-month period. The annexes define the principles for determining ADD values, weighting antibiotic classes for pigs, and calculating mortality in cattle and pig herds.
