This Order regulates the placing on the Danish market of electrical and electronic equipment and the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). It applies broadly to electrical and electronic equipment, subject to listed exclusions, and establishes producer-responsibility rules requiring producers and their representatives to register with Dansk Producentansvar before placing covered equipment on the market, report annually on quantities placed on the market and waste collected or treated, and ensure take-back and separate handling of WEEE. It also regulates product design to facilitate reuse, dismantling and recovery; municipal collection schemes and sorting of WEEE from private households; allocation of household WEEE to producers; collection equipment; collective schemes; financial security; duties of distributors and end users; treatment requirements using best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques; removal of hazardous substances, mixtures and components; information duties; fees; supervision and penalties.
