Philippine Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (PBSAP) 2024-2040.

The Philippine Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (2024–2040) is a national strategy of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources that sets a long‑term vision for biodiversity to be valued, conserved and sustainably managed, identifying key drivers of biodiversity loss and organizing actions under ecosystem and species conservation, biodiversity impacts, business engagement and implementation support. It aligns national priorities with the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the Sustainable Development Goals, the Philippine Development Plan and the National Adaptation Plan, and responds to major drivers of biodiversity loss such as climate change, pollution, overexploitation, invasive species and habitat conversion. The plan establishes measurable targets for expanding terrestrial and marine conservation areas, restoring degraded ecosystems, reducing poaching and invasive species pressures, strengthening biosafety and mainstreaming biodiversity in planning and business practices. It outlines implementation through DENR leadership, multi‑stakeholder bodies, regional localization and Indigenous Peoples’ participation, supported by financing strategies, monitoring indicators and natural capital accounting.
