This Executive Order provides for advancing equity in California State government policies, programmes, services, workforce practices, and public administration through a coordinated government-wide strategy. The Order ensures agencies explicitly incorporate equity considerations into planning, budgeting, service delivery, hiring, procurement, data collection, and community engagement, in order to reduce disparities affecting underserved and marginalised communities, through: strengthening civil rights protection, increasing equitable access to federal infrastructure funding, appointment of individuals with expertise in the following areas: climate change, disability rights, education, food insecurity, housing, immigration, land use, employment, environment, economic security, public health, transportation, youth leadership, agriculture.
