This Order of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Cabo Verde establishes the models and technical specifications for agricultural greenhouses eligible for financing under the Government’s Incentive Programme for Protected Cultivation. The programme is intended to support farmers in the acquisition and installation of protected production units by subsidising part of the associated costs and providing technical assistance. The Order’s principal objective is to standardise the greenhouse structures financed through the programme in order to promote increased agricultural production and productivity, particularly in horticultural cultivation. It identifies four authorised greenhouse models: Gothic, Tunnel, Semi-Tunnel, and Flat (Kriola) greenhouses. The Order further establishes detailed common and model-specific technical requirements relating to structural design, construction materials, galvanised steel components, insect-proof protective networks, dimensions, ventilation features, reinforcement systems, and recommended agricultural uses. Special provisions are included for coastal areas, crop support systems, and protection against wind and pests. By defining uniform technical standards for protected cultivation infrastructure, the Order seeks to ensure the quality, durability, functionality, and suitability of subsidised greenhouses while supporting the modernisation and sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
