These Rules amend the Hatchery Rules, 2011. Amendments concern the following matters: definition of hatchery, as a facility engaged in the production of eggs, spawn, nauplii and post-larvae of fish, shrimp or other aquatic organisms; procedures for duplicating certificates; revision of application, registration and renewal of fees, covering various species, including freshwater fishes and foreign fish hatchery; publication of approved species for which eggs, spawn, nauplii and post-larvae may be produced; insertion of new prohibited hormones and other chemical substances; increasing governmental control over species propagation; strengthening aquatic animal health provisions and biosecurity measures.
