The Madhya Pradesh State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC) provides a framework for addressing climate change impacts through adaptation and mitigation measures across key sectors of the state economy and environment. The plan identifies climate-related risks affecting forests and biodiversity, water resources, agriculture, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, human health, urban development, energy, industry and rural livelihoods, and assesses the vulnerability of different regions and communities. It outlines sector-specific strategies including sustainable forest and water management, climate-resilient agriculture, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy development, energy efficiency, improved public health preparedness, sustainable urban planning, and support for climate-resilient rural development. The document promotes integration of climate change considerations into sectoral policies, programmes and development planning while strengthening institutional capacity, research, monitoring and stakeholder participation. It also establishes mechanisms for vulnerability assessment, knowledge management, capacity-building and climate governance through the State Knowledge Management Centre on Climate Change.
