Decree-Law No. 115/96 implementing EU Council Directive No. 94/57 of 22 November, concerning authorities responsible for carrying out controls on vessels and maritime administration.

This Decree-Law implements EU Council Directive No. 94/57 concerning the authorities responsible for carrying out controls on vessels and maritime administration. It regulates authorities who are in turn authorized by the General Direction of Harbours, Navigation and Maritime Transports to inspect vessels, grant technical certificates and authorize projects. This Decree-Law deals also with national and foreign vessel construction and maintenance requirements (vessel hull, machinery, electric parts, etc.).
