This Order lays down the establishment, organization and operation of the Metrology Directorate within the Malta Standards Authority. The Metrology Directorate shall be the national body responsible for matters related to metrology and legal metrology in Malta, and shall, in particular, among other functions be responsible for execution, up keeping and conservation of National Measurement Standards, provide working measurement standards, prepare and implement a national metrology strategy, and organise the national calibration and traceability activity.
