This Circular has been issued to clarify the procedures that shall be followed during importation of veterinary biological products. Individuals and companies who wish to import veterinary biological products shall apply to Protection and Controlling Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Application and consent procedures are given in details. Procedures for inspection and examination of veterinary biological products at the port of entry are also given in detail. Products that do not comply with required standards after laboratory analysis are rejected. Importers have the right to object to any decision and a second and final analysis will be conducted in an institute designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Rejected products are returned to the country of origin where applicable. If this is not possible, the products are destroyed at the port of entry. Imported products shall be stored in a suitable warehouse that are approved by relevant institutes. Wholesale and retail sales of these products are strictly supervised and inspected. Any kind of promotional activities and advertisement for such products is subject to consent by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
